"For World Cup I had to wait for 21 years but for this I had to wait for only six years. Also this is special for me as I won't be playing in IPL next season," Tendulkar said at the end of Mumbai Indians' triumph.

"I think this is the right time to stop playing IPL. Just got to accept the reality that this would be my last season. I am happy that the sending was perfect," the maestro told the presenter.

"I can't just wait to touch the trophy and this is the right time to say thank you to everyone. It's never too late to win a trophy," a beaming Tendulkar said when another legend Sunil Gavaskar asked whether he would play
the opening match of Mumbai Indians at Wankhede next year.    Click Here to Earn Money from Posting!

Asked about how it felt playing at 40, he said, "Anil (Kumble) said that 40 is just a number. There were optional practise days but entire team turned up. Things don't come easily but we were prepared to go through the grind."

For Tendulkar, the current season surpassed their show in the third edition where they narrowly lost the final to Chennai Super Kings.

"I've enjoyed my six seasons with Mumbai Indians. It's been fantastic journey. This season was superb. We thought our third season was the best but this one is the icing on the cake," the legend stated.

This is the second format from which Tendulkar has announced his retirement after having called quits from the ODIs in December right before the series against Pakistan.

The cricket fans will now have to wait till the end of the year when Tendulkar is likely to be seen in action against South Africa in a three-Test series where he is expected to complete a historic 200 Tests.

Indian Origin Invents New type of battery !

Indian Origin Eesha Khare, 18 invents a device that can charge a phone in 20 seconds.

Eesha Khare, 18, of Saratoga, California received the Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award of $50,000 for developing a fast-charging supercapacitor that fits inside a cell phone, charge the battery in under a minute, and hold it for long. Khare says the device will also result in batteries that can last for 10,000 charge-recharge cycles, compared with 1,000 cycles for conventional rechargeable batteries.

Barca Claim 2013 LaLiga Title

The rain that soaked pitch during the match between FC Barcelona and Valladolid was quickly forgotten when the league champions trotted out onto the pitch after the match. It was time to celebrate the well earned title after a season marked by many difficulties. “It’s a real joy and pleasure to offer you this Liga. It’s been away from Barcelona for a year, but now it’s here once again,” declared Tito Vilanova in his address to the fans.

“I want to thank you for your confidence and for the help you’ve given to us throughout the season, through the good moments and the not so good moments. Without you this would have been much more difficult. I also want to thank my technical staff, who have done a fantastic job.” Lastly, he thanked his players: “Help them and encourage them, they will make you enjoy [football]. Visca el Barça and visca Catalunya.”

Abidal and Tito lift the trophy

Before Vilanova picked up the mic, it was Carles Puyol who addressed the Camp Nou faithful: “we want to thank you for the support you’ve shown us. It’s been a difficult year, but we won La Liga. The most important thing is that Abidal and Tito are here with us. Let’s celebrate this well earned title. We want more next season!”

The captain, who was handed the trophy by Ángel María Villar, president of the RFEF, gave the trophy to Abidal and Vilanova so that they could lift the cup for the first time in front of the fans. A gesture, similar to the one in Wembley in 2011, that won’t be forgotten.
